Well the
season is officially underway. The first
pasta party of the season was a huge success.
We watched the video of the injury fund game (thank-you Mrs.
Timpson). On Wednesday, we had our team
pictures taken and notched our first victory of the season in our season opener
- an 18-8 victory over Pilgrim. Thirteen
different players contributed to the score.
We shuffled players between attack, midfield and defense and everyone
adjusted nicely. Between the injury fund
game and this game we have 15 different athletes that have contributed to
scoring for us. This team effort will
give us a HUGE advantage the season as our opponents will not know where the
next threat is. Our goalie, Ceili O’Connell
is also doing an outstanding job in net!
It’s hard to believe this is her freshman year. Keep up the great work everyone!
We have two
away games this week. We play Chariho (directions)
on Wednesday and Warwick Vets (directions)
on Friday. Buses for these games will
leave NHS at 2:30 pm sharp. Plan to be ready
to go by 2:15 pm. Both games start at
4pm with JV contests immediately following at 5:30 pm. Volunteers for snacks / drinks (list) can either
bring them to school for our 2:30 departure or meet the bus after the game. Olympic Physical Therapy will be at our practice this Tuesday to help us with our
stretching and strengthening our knees and ankles. Temperatures are expected to be in the
mid 50’s this week (weather).
Be prepared and wear warm layers to practice and to the game this week.
Team
jackets for new players will be distributed at practice tomorrow.
Remember all athletes must wear BLACK spandex under their uniform.
Long sleeve and long length pants are recommended in the early part of the
season.
