Weekly Status
Recap
Well it's been an interesting start to the season so far. It's hard to believe Spring arrived this past Wednesday. The cold, snowy, wet weather and a wet, unlined field only allowed one practice on the field this week. The rest of the time we were indoors which presented different challenges: 35 athletes in a small gym with a broken divider wall that could not be fully opened most of the week. The scrimmage we had scheduled with Cranston East on Friday also had cancelled due to a snow-covered, unlined field. All things considered, we persevered and did have some good training sessions. Hopefully the coming week will be much better.
This Week
Captain Selection
This week we will be selecting varsity captains. Every athlete will have an opportunity to vote for up to four captains. The voting will be conducted on-line. The link to vote will be sent out to each athlete via Email.
Team Jackets
We will be ordering team jackets for new teammates. We will take sizes on Monday and place the order this week in order to get the jackets in close to the beginning of the season.
Fundraiser
Each athlete is expected to sell a minimum of 5 fundraiser cards by this Thursday, March 28, 2013. An additional week will be given to athletes who would like to sell additional fundraiser cards to help offset the cost of a clothing order the team typically makes each season. Athletes selling additional cards will receive a 20% discount towards the clothing purchase for each card sold over the first five. Athletes selling all 10 fundraiser cards will get their clothing order for FREE!
All proceeds from the fundraiser and any unsold tickets need to be turned in by Thursday April 4, 2013. Please have a check made out to NHS with "girls lacrosse fundraiser" in the memo field. DO NOT SEND CASH IN WITH YOUR CHILD.
Practice / Scrimmage
Indoor practice is 7:30 - 9:00 pm this week. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us and we will not have to practice indoors, but you should plan accordingly. The scrimmage we had planned with Cranston East this past Friday is scheduled for this Thursday, pending weather / field conditions. Updates will be provided as we get closer to the Thursday. There will be no practice on Good Friday.
