Weekly Update

RecapThis quote epitomizes the heart, hustle and determination this team has displayed throughout the regular season.  The guts and will to win we showed this past Friday have taken us to our first team goal - Division 2 South Champions - but we are not finished yet.  Our second season starts tomorrow.  Going into the post-season, we need to maintain this focus and MAKE IT HAPPEN!    

Thanks to the Heatherton and Cunnie families for the snacks and drinks on the bus ride home this week, the McGreen and Sabetti families for the pasta parties and all families who have supported, and continue to support the team through the season!

This Week’s Plans – Playoffs start this week.  The weather is looking more like April than May with showers expected Monday through Thursday so we may have to practice indoors on some days.  Indoor practice times will be announced if needed.  Although the official seedings have not been posted, we should be a 2 seed and have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.  The first round game will be Thursday May 24 at NHS.  In preparation for playoffs, varsity-only practices be held through the end of the season.  I will be contacting all players today to let you know if you are required to be at practice.  ALL players are expected to be at the playoff games.  Our schedule this week is as follows:

Monday              May 21:               Practice – 3:45 – 5:45 pm
Tuesday              May 22:               Practice – 3:00 – 5:00 pm – note time change;  Coaches need to be in Providence at 6pm.
Wednesday        May 23::              Practice – 3:45 – 5:45 pm
Thursday             May 24:               First Round State Tournament – NHS versus TBD; Game time: 4pm.  Be at field by 3pm
Friday                   May 25               Practice – 3:45 – 5:45 pm

Important Dates
June 4, 2012 - Coaches Select Game (formerly the all-star game)– location TBA.  Coaches select players will be announced at the end of the season.
June 13, 2012 - All-Division Awards Banquet6pm at the West Valley Inn.  Tickets will be approximately $20 per person.  All players / parents are invited.  No tickets will be sold at the door.  I need to provide a head count by 25 May, 2012.

NEW Pictures - A free-lance photographer was at the fog-fest this past Wednesday.  Action shots of several of the girls are available to view.  Over 250 pictures were taken.  Check it out!
